Debrecen Award for Molecular Medicine, „Debrecen Díj a Molekuláris Orvostudományért” Emlékérem és Jutalomdíj
 
The “Debrecen Prize for Molecular Medicine” was established by the University of Debrecen in 2003 in the field of molecular medicine. By presenting this award annually, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Debrecen aims to recognize researchers who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of medical research. Each fall, the award is presented to an internationally recognized researcher or research group whose work has resulted in significant progress in the field of molecular medicine. The award is in the amount of 10,000 euros. Nominations are made by a 12-member panel appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. With this award, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Debrecen aims to recognize innovative biomedical research and internationally outstanding achievements. The award is given to a researcher whose work has significantly contributed to the advancement of molecular medicine and whose findings can be applied in modern patient care. The awardee’s work encompasses both basic research and clinical research leading to new findings that significantly improve patient care. Recipients may be researchers whose achievements and results rank among the forefront of international research. The laureate may use the prize money as they see fit, although the nominating committee hopes that at least a portion of the prize will be allocated to the further development of their field. The award is presented at a formal ceremony, combined with a commemorative lecture by the laureate, every November or December in Debrecen.
